Shaheda is a former Judge of the Supreme Court. She retired as the most senior of the “Designated Judges” specialised for international arbitration matters, after having delivered landmark judgments , including Cruz City v Unitech Limited [Yearbook Com. Arb. 2014 (Vol 39) 447] and UBS v MCB [2016 SCJ 43].

The Cruz City judgment was nominated by the Global Arbitration Review (GAR) for an award as “the most important published decision of 2014 for jurisprudential or other reasons”.

Shaheda was also a sitting judge for several years at the African Union Administrative Tribunal where she actively worked on reforming the Tribunal’s procedural rules

Shaheda currently acts as a consultant.
